These cupcakes are something to roar about: super easy and fun for kids, too.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); icing tinted yellow; yellow mini marshmallows; black licorice with candy coating; chocolate chip; 2 blue M&Ms.
How to Make It: Frost cupcake yellow. Place marshmallows around edge of cupcake. Add M&Ms for eyes and cupcake for nose. Arrange licorice for mouth.

Easy sunflower cupcakes

In a future post, we’ll show you how to make sunflower cupcakes with a decorating bag and star tip, but for those of you without the tools or time for that fanciness, here’s how to go about making easy sunflower cupcakes.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); icing tinted yellow; brown M&Ms.
How To Make It: Frost cupcake yellow. Make sure to get a good, thick coat of icing on there. Then, use a knife or small spatula to pull the frosting up into peaks. Then simply drop three brown M&Ms into the center. Voila! Sunflowers.

Is there a special kitty you really love? One who you always want to say “hello” to? Try this cupcake on for size.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); white frosting; 6 licorice candies; yellow M&M; 2 brown mini M&Ms; 2 pink Runts candies, or similar pink candies or Good & Plenties.
How to Make It: Frost cupcake. Stick 3 black licorice pieces on each side of face for whiskers. Add yellow M&M nose, mini M&M eyes and a pink candy bow. This cat rules Girl Nation!

Marshmallow sheep cupcakes

Get your baaa-d self together and make these lamb cupcakes, which are so easy they’re a perfect choice for kids to make.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); white frosting; mini marshmallows; black (licorice flavor) Necco wafer; candy “eyes” or just use dots of icing or writing gel.
How To Make It: Frost cupcake white. Place Necco wafer in top one-third of cupcake and add eyes. Fill in rest of cupcake with marshmallows. That’s it!

This is the day the teddy bears have their picnic … on your cupcakes, that is! Gummy bears chill out under parasols on this quick cupcake.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); white or green frosting; coconut and green food coloring (optional); gummy bears; paper umbrella.
How To Make It: Frost cupcake with white or green icing. Tint coconut green and sprinkle on cupcake for grass. Open paper umbrella and stick into cupcake. Arrange as many gummy bears as you’d like at your picnic.

Bring a bit of sunshine to your cupcakes with this easy design using candy corn (Hit those after-Halloween sales now!)

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); white or off-white frosting; yellow paste or liquid food coloring; candy corn; 2 chocolate chips; bit of red licorice (or use red writing icing.)
Make That Cupcake!: Tint icing yellow and frost cupcake. Arrange candy corn, pointy end out, around edge of cupcake for sun’s rays. Place 2 chocolate chips for eyes and add a licorice smile.

What could be cuter than a batch of kitty cupcakes? These cute cats are fun for kids (or grownups) to make, and are super easy thanks to graham cracker ears, a gumdrop nose and licorice whiskers.

What You Need: 1 cupcake (baked and cooled); white frosting (or use chocolate for a brown cat, or add orange for a calico!); red licorice; red gumdrop; two green M&Ms; graham crackers.
Make That Cupcake!: Frost cupcake. Use licorice to make whiskers and mouth. Add gumdrop nose and M&M eyes. Cut graham cracker in half (those are squares) and stick in diagonally for ears.
